Children and minors are spending more time on MySpace, Facebook, Hyves, YouTube, MSN and playing (aggressive) videogames then they spend time on their homework or going outside or spending time with they're friends. They get addicted to it without even knowing and this will result in a change of behaviour.

When they should do their homework or get some sleep their logging on they're computer or playing videogames, because both parents aren’t home or they're child(ren) has a computer on they're own room. Some parents don't even bother anymore to go up and disconnect the computer/ television everytime or turning it off every hour.

I’m writing this blog, since aggression, fighting and shooting outside and inside school is increasing rapidly.
Childeren/ Teenagers are looking up and feeling ‘it’ when they play games like GTA or Counterstrike etc.
When they use the computer or watch television, their brains produce endorphins, giving them a high similar to that experienced by gamblers or drug addicts.
They responses to questions even mirror those of alcoholics and gamblers when asked about use,” said one addiction counselor.

America and Europe are having the same problem with minors and teens with their aggression and behauviour problems.
Several teachers and minors have been stabbed and shot dead in school, and there is enough happening outside the school.

Who doesnt remember the Columbine High School massacre in America?
Where 2 students were obsessed by video-shooting games, and decided to imitate the game at their school.

Or the Jokela School Shooting in Finland?
Where a 18 year student killed 8 people and wounded 12 others with a semi-automatic pistol.

A 15 year old stabbed a 16 year old student near the busstation and died.

Principal (H. van Wieren) shot dead by student.

- Oktober 30 2006 : Christian Ubbo Emmius college / Location: Veendam
A 16 year old student beats a 13 year old a basilar skull fracture.

- March 21 2007 : ROC Zadkine college / Location: Amsterdam
A student stabbs another student in front of the schooldoor.

- 2007: ISW College / location: Naaldwijk
A 17 year old student stabbed a other student with the age of 16.

- March 22 2007 Marcanti College / Location: Amsterdam
A 14 year old student stabbed in the back by a other student.

- March 22 2007 ROC De Leijgraaf college / Location: Oss
A 16 year old student stabbed a local student at the bicycle meeting place at school.

- October 12 2007 TEC College / Location: Amsterdam
Student stabbed to death by other student in front of school.

- October 13 2007 Accent College/ Location: Rotterdam
A 15 year old student stabs a other student (Angelo) and the principal (mw. Mavis) when trying to save him.

- October 11 2007 TeC College / Location: Amsterdam
A 14 year old student stabs a 16 year old student in his neck and died in the hospital.

- October 24 2007 Bijlmer public school / Location: Amsterdam
A student stabs 2 other students.

- September 23 2008 TeC College / Location: Amsterdam
A 29 year old teacher (H.A. Khouda) of this school killed by driveby gunshots.

- Also Belgium made the news in 2009 with a bizar killer:
2 baby's (not older than 2) and a adult were stabbed to death by a teenager that was also wearing guns with him but did not use them. 12 others were injured (2 adults and 10 childeren).
The killer was 20 year old and inspired by "The Joker" of the Batman movie.

16 students killed by gunshots by 17 year old-student (T. Kretschmer).
Also inspired by video-shooting games, specially Counterstrike and Far-cry 2.

Another increasing problem under the youth are deformed fingers, because childeren forget the time when the are playing videogames. This problem should also not be underestimated, this problem can cause serious injuries in a later stage of the life.

Examples :

A 5 year old girl A 11 year old boy A 17 year old teenager

A 18 year old teenager Another 18 year old teenager

Parents just need to make sure that their childeren, dont sit to long/much behind their computer(games) to prevent the mental and physical damage.

I would like to know if their are more parents in need of such a (easy-to-use) device.
Also i would like to know what your experience (with (your) childeren) is.

CONCLUSION :

Computer(games) and Television can definitly change the behauviour and thinking of a person.
Parents should get more control of the computer, gaming and television behaviour of their children inside and outside their room, because parents aren’t always present or not noticing when their using their computer.
When children are spending less time on videogames and spending less time behind the television or the internet we could reduce the aggression they develope with it and spend more time on their school, friends or going outside wich is also good for their (body) health.

Console manufactures and televisions that does have a "Parental Control" setting, are for most parents to complicated to use and children/ teenagers are very creative to bypass such a security. The internet is full of tricks and hints how to do this.
When a parent leaves the room or the house the device is directly turned on again without them even knowing it.

SOLUTION? :

Because of this and the increasing problems I have developed a device that can be a solution and can be applied for all computers, game consoles and televisions.

It will give parents more control of the gaming, internet and television behaviour of their children inside and outside their room.
Even when the parent(s) leave the house or the parent(s) are at work the children cannot use the media-device when the parent(s) has activated the device.
Disconnecting the device (Parent Control 2.0) has no use, the media (TV, Computer, Console) wont work!

The device has one button to be activated and parents can setup the device to disable the mediadevice for a couple of minutes or hours, that it will shutdown the computer or television when they pushes that button and is not “bypassable”.

I think we give children and teenagers a better chance to developed their behaviour in a positive way when parents can interrupt the television, aggressive gaming or addicted MySpace, Facebook behaviour with just one press on a button without children / teenagers turning these devices back on when parents turns around.
A few people in my area have tested the prototype and were very positive of the easy use and effectiveness of the device.

I started this blog to investigate the need of (some) people for such a device wich will be able to use with just one button, and there will be no way to turn the (connected) media-device on.
Only the parent can do so.

The aggresion among teenagers is growing rapidly by influance of the media (Television, Computers, Gameconsoles). The facts i came up with are only the fact the media have shown us, what happens outside this media? how many fights, stabbing and shooting is there daily among kids?

If there is really such a need i'm considering to look for investors for my prototype.
With the purpose to give parents in need, in America and Europe to get such a device.
